REFLECTION ON
SCHOOL EXPERIENCE.
We, the teacher trainees alloted for GOVT.
H.S.Aylara reached the school at sharp 9 a.m on the first day and signed the
register kept in Principal's office.The same one we were given during our
initiatory school experience of 5days in january 2017. I had classes in
8th and 9th respectively. We had assembly on all these days and all the teacher
trainees attended their teaching classes and substitution classes without fail.
Substitution classes list will be provided to us in the 1st period by Sreekala
miss and we will choose the classes according to our timetable. Classes begin
after assembly at10 and on rainy days, after prayer and pledge. There are
breaks after 2 periods and lunch break is given after 4th period. The time
alloted for each class is 40minutes. The school will be dispersed at 4 p.m
after prayer and national anthem everyday. Special classes are being conducted
for students who are writing board exams this year everyday.
CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR
ACTIVITIES.
In this week, students of 8th and 9th standards were taught using lesson plans
from their 1st units of Biology text. 8th standard students were given
laboratory experience on the first day. Parts of microscope was taught using
microscope and slide preparation of stem section was also shown. Students
actively participated in all the activities given. The contibution of
scientists in the branch of cell biology was explained using cutouts of
scientists such as Robert Hook, Robert Brown, Shleiden, Schwann and Virshow.
9th standard students were taught the arrangement of chloroplast in leaves,
structure of chloroplast, pigments in chloroplast and their functions. Teaching
aids such as leaves, microscope, slides, charts were used appropriately based
on the lesson plan and topics taught. The daily diary and reflective
journals were also done this
week.
EXTRA- CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
19-7-2017 was reading
day and therefore this week was celebrated as reading week and various
activities were being conducted in association with reading books.Assembly was
conducted on all the days this week and Principal instructed the students to
conduct assembly in different languages. On 19-6-2017, assembly was conducted
in malayalam and on 21-6-2017, in Hindi and in English on the other days.
OVERALL REFLECTION ON CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE.
Students of 8th and 9th standards were given lesson plan oriented activity
based and ict based classroom experiences. 2 lesson plans of 8th and 9th
standard were completed effectively. 3 charts were prepared for 8th standard
students; 4 charts and 1 slide was prepared for 9th standard. Students were
given followup activities like assignments, complete pictures and flowcharts in
science diary.

TEACHING
PRACTICE: Our first phase of teaching practise was at GOVT H.S,AYLARA from
16.6.2017
to 23.8.2017. The
Principal of Sabarigiri College of Education, Sri. Brahmanandan Sir allotted 8
student teachers to GOVT H.S,AYLARA. Renju and Ancykhan from Natural
Science option, Jino and Athira from English,Mubeena,Sruthy,Amitha from Social
Science option were the selected teachers. All of our teacher incharges
especially for us Sreedevi Madam provided us with all the necessary
instructions guidance and support for completing lesson plans selecting
activities and models for teaching and preparing teaching aids for our teaching
practise.
CURRICULAR
ACTIVITIES.
- * All the teacher
trainees were given classes for teaching from 6th standard to 9th standard
according to lesson templates.
- * 40 lesson templates
should be completed during the 10 weeks of teaching practise.
- * ICT classes should be
provided to selected topics for effective teaching* Child centered,
learner friendly classroom environment should be given for a change from
normal classroom using different models of teaching.
- * A topic for field study was
selected for the general paper "Environmental Education"
- * An awareness program
on the topic "plastic waste management" was selected for field
study in the school.
- * Diagnostic tests should be
conducted to identify the difficulty level of students. Appropriate
remedial measures should be given after the test.
- * Achievement test based on
lesson templates should be conducted to assess the achievement of
students.
- * Yoga class should be taken
according to the lesson template prepared by each teacher trainee.
*Practical and practicum works also should bbe completed during this
period
- * Reading and reflection on
text also should be completed during the teaching practise
- * Innovative works also
should be completed based on the the topic in lesson template.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
We, the teacher trainees should conduct a school assembly by selecting
students including prayer, pledge, holybook, newspaper reading, proverb
for the day, thought for the day, importance of the day, quiz and conclude with
national anthem.
EXTRA -CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
The teacher
trainees should participate in all the extra curricular activities conducted in
the school.
