TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK 6: 24.7.2017-28.7.2017

REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE:

Assembly was conducted on MondayTuesday Wednesday and Friday this week. Photos of the colorful house wise assembly was taken from the first floor. Diagnostic test was conducted for students of Standard 9 this week.

REFLECTION ON CLASS EXPERIENCE:

 Students of 9th was taught the topic Different types of teeth and their functions using chart. Class test was given to students of class 9 on tuesday during the substitution period. The topic plant tissues was taught to 8th Standard students on Wednesday using charts showing structure and function of plant tissues. Reflective journal and daily diary of this week was also completed during this week.

OVERALL CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE:

Students of standard 8 and 9 were given lesson plan and activity oriented classes on Monday Wednesday and Thursday in the respective classes according to the time table provided. 2 lesson plans were completed in both the classes. Students were given follow up activities like drawing the structure and function of different types of teeth, to prepare a picture album showing the different types of teeth in herbivores and carnivores, to prepare cutouts of plant tissues, to draw pictures of plant tissues in the science diary.

TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK 5: 17.7.2017-21.7.2017

REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE:

 In this week no extra curricular activities were conducted in the School and therefore we , the teacher trainees got all the teaching periods. School assembly was conducted on 4days during this week i.e, on Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Friday. Which was on English Hindi and Malayalam

CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

Students of Standard 8 was taught the topic Animal tissues on Thursday. ICT class was provided to teach the topic Stem cells and significance of stem cell research for class 8th. 9th standard was taught the topic Human Digestive system using activity method. Flowchart of digestive system was completed by the students after the two activities. Students actively participated in all the activities given. Teaching aids such as videos and charts were used appropriately to make the topic interesting and understanding. Reflective journal and daily diary were completed this week.
OVERALL CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE:

The students of class 8 and 9 were taught two topics each during this week using teaching aids such as charts and video. 5 charts and 2 videos were used to teach in both the classes. Follow up activities given to the students were to prepare a manuscript magazine on the significance of stem cells, to prepare a chart containing the structure and function of animal tissues, to draw a picture of plant tissues in the science diary, to prepare a model of human digestive system and to write a note on the various parts of human digestive system.

REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE:
The regular classrooms and timetable continued this week. Assembly was conducted during this week as there was no rain in the morning. Principal sir reminded the students that no excuse will be given to the students in the case of keeping discipline. Students recited a pledge on keeping their state clean and green given to the school by Education department, Government of Kerala. All the student teachers had observation classes in all the subjects this week. Our Madam Ms. Sreedevi.V.K observed my class. She suggested so many points to improve my class and her overall impression of the class was "good''. We completed reflective journals and daily diary also in addition to the school works.
SUGGESTIONS MADE BY THE TEACHER ON CLASS OBSERVED:

* Use more aids, use black board whenever necessary.
* Time management, confidence level, content delivery etc should be noted.

CURRICULAR AND CO- CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Students of 8th standard were taught structure of nucleus, types of cells, types of animal tissues and my teacher Sreedevi madam observed my class in ith standard on Wednesday on the topic Types of cells. Charts and ICT classrooms were used for 8th standard students. She noted down positives and negatives pf my class and gave me suggestions for a lot of improvement in the coming classes. 9th standard students were given proper notes on the seminar conducted on the topic global warming.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

Class teachers distributed 2 packets of vegetable seeds  for the students to make the students make their own "1 muram vegetable" for Onam from their home itself in association with Haritha Keralam program.

 OVERALL REFLECTION ON CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE:

 ICT based and activity oriented classes were conducted for students of 8th standard this week.1 ICT classroom and 5 charts were used to make the topic interesting. Students were given follow up activities like drawing a labelled picture of the nucleus in the science diary, an assignment on structure of nucleus and its parts, to prepare a cut out of different types of cells in human body and to draw a labelled diagram of animal cell.

REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE:
 The students of GOVT H S AYLARA had unit tests during this week from monday to thursday. Class tests were done. Questions were asked from 1st unit only. I could teach 8th standard students and 9th standard students after the test paper was done. Prokaryotes and eukaryotes and plastids were taught to 8th standard students on Wednesday and in 9th standard ocean as an ecosystem and causes and effects of pollution on photosynthesis. On  9th standard students took seminar on global warming.Sreekala teacher got transfer to G H S S Kuzhimathikad and a sent of party were given to teacher on 7.7.2017
CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

 ICT class was provided for 9th standard students during this week to teach ocean ecosystem and ocean pollution.Seminar was conducted by 9th standard students on the topic Global warming. Causes , effects and preventive measures were noted down by the students. Additional points were also provided. Students actively participated in ICT classroom and Seminar classes.  OVERALL REFLECTION ON CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE: 
ICT based and activity oriented classroom experience was given to 9th standard and 8th standard students respectively. 3 Charts and 2 videos were used to make the topic easily understandable to the students.
